3. Harvest and Processing Methods

Nos varietes

1. VARIETY: RI 5-2, RI 5-3

The Lingot Blanc, known under the varieties RI 5-2 and RI 5-3, is a large-sized white bean with an elongated shape, measuring over 13 mm in length. These varieties, 100% organic, are characterized by their fluffy texture, rich flavor, and ease of cooking. The grains, ranging in color from white to off-white, have a glossy appearance and an average size of 180 to 260 grains per 100 g. Cultivated in the highland regions of Madagascar, at an altitude of 400 to 1200 meters, the Lingot Blanc has a production season from March to April.

With an average productivity and a high yield of 1200 to 1500 kg/ha, this variety is well-suited to the agroclimatic conditions of the southwest, northwest, central east, and highlands. However, it is susceptible to diseases and requires moderately fertile soil. Farmers in these regions appreciate the Lingot Blanc for its quality, taste, and adaptability to local growing conditions.

2. VARIETY: RANJONOMBY

The Lingot Blanc, also known as the Ranjonomby variety, is a large-sized, elongated white bean. This 100% organic variety is distinguished by its fluffy texture, rich flavor, and ease of cooking. The grains, ranging in color from white to off-white, are glossy and measure over 13 mm in size. The Lingot Blanc grows in the highlands of Madagascar, at an altitude of 400 to 1200 meters, with a production period from March to April. Its average productivity and high yield make this variety an attractive option for farmers. However, it is susceptible to diseases and requires moderately fertile soil. The Ranjonomby variety is favored for its culinary qualities and is well-suited to the agroclimatic conditions of the highland regions of Madagascar.
